The Drive Cartridge System SA35 is the simplest storage solution that turns any 3.5" Serial ATA hard drive into a high performance removable drive cartridge system. It is designed for efficient cooling and unique point to point connection for long term durability. The Drive Cartridge System SA35 comes complete with all the components needed for using as an external cartridge system or for installing into a 5 1/4" of any computer. The DCS SA35 family offers choice of both aluminium and ABS plastics as well as black and ivory colour to go with various types of equipment and applications.

Product features:

·                     Fastest removable cartridge system - up to 150 MBytes/sec

·                     Use any 3.5" SATA or SATA II hard drive

·                     Point to point connection between Drive Cartridge and Drive cradle

·                     Largest data storage capacity per cartridge - determined by the size of the hard drive

·                     Hot swap and bootable* with both external or internal connections

·                     support: DOS, Windows NT4, Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, XP, Mac OS X, Linux Kernel 2.4 and above

(1) Serial ATA hot swap feature works only with controllers basing on Silicon Image chip set from our in-house testing. Other controllers that are not Silicon Image based may not support hot swap. You may consider adding one of the Addonics Serial ATA host controllers to your systems to ensure the hot swap capability. New controllers from Intel and other suppliers may finally correct the problem. Please verify with your controller manufacturer if you need to have hot swap feature in your application. Hot swap feature is supported in Windows 2000 and XP only. On other OS, drive can be removed without crashing system. But replacing with a different drive can result in crashing the OS.
