The Storage Tower II features two standard 5 1/4" drive bays and an integrated power supply in a compact chassis with a stylish and functional front bezel. Similar to other Storage Towers in this family, the back panel on the ST II can accommodate a variety of Port Multipliers (PM) and connectors to meet a wide range of applications.

When configured with eSATA/USB Hardware Port Multiplier, the Storage Tower II with a pair of hard drives inside can instantly be turned into a RAID set for redundancy backup or high performance application. The entire RAID set can also be connected to any computer that has an eSATA port or USB 2.0 port. By integrating with two optional Addonics 2.5" Disk Array 4SA, as many as eight 2.5" SATA hard drives can be installed into the Storage Tower II. The back panel also can be configured with multiple eSATA connectors, a regular Hardware PM or the SATA Multilane connector to create a high performance external storage system or a terabyte storage farm that can be connected up to 6 feet away from a computer system.

For the security conscious, Jupiter Cipher Mobile Rack or Saturn Cipher Mobile Rack can be added to provide bullet proof hardware security to protect the data. The Storage Tower II includes a high CFM cooling fan and vented front panel for a well ventilated interior with superior air flow. The case cover which extends over the top and side panels can also be easily removed to provide easy access for storage device installation and cable connection.

* For eSATA connection, hot swap feature depends on the controller. All Addonics SATA controllers support the hot swap feature. The Storage Tower II can be powered down and restarted to swap out hard drive without rebooting the system.
