External Serial ATA Interface Cable 

Designed to turn any Addonics DVD, CDRW, CD-ROM, DVD+/-R/RW, Pocket ExDrive or Combo Hard Drive into a high performance external Serial ATA device, the Addonics External Serial ATA-USIB interface cable takes the external data storage devices to a new performance level. The cable connects to Standard Serial ATA port and also provides optional BUS power to Addonics Pocket Series storage via an integrated USB power cable. The External Serial ATA cable attach easily to any Addonics Pocket or Mobile Storage devices. Once installed, any Addonics external data storage device can be added or removed from the system via the high speed Serial ATA port, just like a USB or Firewire device. With Serial ATA interface, you have a fast 150 MBytes/sec data transfer capability.

Addonics also offers a full family of Serial ATA solutions including CardBus Serial ATA adapter for Notebooks and Combo Internal/External Serial ATA PCI controller for Desktops or server computers. These host adapters, in conjunction with the External Serial ATA-USIB interface cable, enable the implementation of a high performance storage system with plenty of convenient features and flexibilities that you can ever image.

Product Features

* For DVD, CDRW, DVD/CDRW, DVD-R/RW, CD-ROM devices, Addonics Serial ATA PCI host controller or host controller based on Silicon Image chip may be required. Other Serial ATA controller chip set may only work with Addonics Combo Hard Drive and Pocket ExDrive. Check with your system manufacturer for the detail information on the Serial ATA controller it is already installed in your system.
(1) Serial ATA hot swap feature works only with controllers basing on Silicon Image chip set from our inhouse testing. Other controllers that are not Silicon Image based may not support hot swap. You may consider adding one of the Addonics Serial ATA host controllers to your systems to ensure the hot swap capability. New controllers from Intel and other suppliers may finally support this feature. Please verify with your controller manufacturer if you need to have hot swap in your application. Hot swap is supported in Windows 2000 and XP only. On other OS, drive can be removed without crashing system. But replacing with a different drive can result in crashing the OS.
