ZEBRA DRIVE ENCLOSURES

The new Zebra series drive enclosure may be the only external drive enclosure that you will ever need. With a wide range of optional components, the Zebra series are designed to start as a basic economical drive enclosure solution. It can then be expanded with new capabilities to accommodate different type of storage devices or interface connections as your need grows. The Zebra family of enclosures come in choices of three difference interface connection - USIB, eSATA or eSATA+USB combo. The Zebra enclosures are large enough for both 3.5" or 5 1/4" drives and are designed for simple drive installation with an easy slide open drive tray at the back. The front features a removable front panel to accomodate removable or optical storage devices.

Zebra USIB model (ZUSCSU, ZUSCSF):

The Zebra USIB model is equipped with an IDE - USIB or SATA - USIB connector on the back panel. Practically any IDE or SATA storage device can be turned into an external storage device. With the addition of an optional SATA - IDE converter, any SATA storage device can also be installed into the Zebra USIB IDE drive enclosure. With the addition of an optional IDE - SATA converter, any IDE storage device can also be installed into the Zebra USIB SATA drive enclosure. Once the storage device is installed into the drive enclosure, it can then be connected to any computer with USB 2.0, Firewire or eSATA interface by attaching different optional Addonics USIB interface cables.

Zebra eSATA model (ZESACS):

The Zebra eSATA model features a SATA to eSATA bridge connector on the back panel. It is an simple and economical solution for turning any SATA storage device into an external eSATA storage. By adding an optional IDE - SATA converter, practically any IDE storage device can also be installed into the Zebra eSATA enclosure. The eSATA interface can be instantly converted to the ubiquitous USB interface by attaching the Addonics eSATA - USB adapter.

Zebra eSATA/USB combo (ZESU2CS):

The latest addition to the Zebra family is the eSATA/USB combo model. It features both built in eSATA and USB 2.0 interface. These two interfaces allows you to connect any SATA hard drives to computer that is equipped with the high speed eSATA port or the convenience of the USB port that is available in variety of computers.

Since an external hard drive connected to an eSATA port appears as an internal hard drive to the OS, the Zebra eSATA and the eSATA/USB combo models come with a bootable hard drive inside that can be used to boot up a computer - great for system rescue operations or computer sharing in training, and various types of applications that require an external boot drive.

Constructed in full aluminium body for durability and effective heat dissipation for some of the high temperature hard drives, the Zebra enclosure provides ample space to accommodate even the large standard height DVD-RRW drive and Addonics Mobile Rack (removable hard drive system). In addition, both the USIB and eSATA back panel are also interchangeable. The Zebra series drive enclosures are also designed to work with Addonics Mobile Rack (removable hard drive system) or the 2.5" hard drive disk array, and turn them into external fully hot swappable removable drive systems.
